The grip attaches securely to the plate, but when the grip and plate are on the MagSafe case the plate/grip combo can easily slip off due to the weight. I suggest two anchor studs on the plate just like on the grip to insert into the corresponding holes in the MagSafe case.
I have large fingers and arthritis in my hands and the thumb rest on the plate greatly increases the security and usability of the grip.
